| Jawaharlal Nehru On formation of A.P.State |
On 5th March, 1956 Jawaharlal Nehru declared at Nizamabad (Telangana) that the Government of India had decided to merge Telangana with Andhra. He also assured the Telangana people that "a masoom bachchi (Telangana),ek natkhat(Andhra) ke saath shadi ho raha hai. Kai din ke baad me ittefaq nahi hone ke vaje se talaq de sakte hain". An innocent girl(Telangana) is being married off to a delinquent (Andhra). If they are not interested they could seek separation at a later day.

Fazal Ali Commision recommended to think unification only after 1961 Elections
para:386. After taking all these factors into consideration, we have come to the conclusion that it will be in the interests of Andhra as well as Telangana, it is for the present the Telangana area is consituted into a seperate State, which may be known as the Hyderabad State, with provision for its unification with Andhra after the general elections likely to be held in or about 1961, if by a two thirds majority the legislature of the residuary Hyderabad State expresses itself in favour of such unification.

 Telangana: Name means land of Telugu people, The place where Telungu is spoken is called Tailangana Desha, meaning land of thill. Telangana region has 10 districts: Warangal, Adilabad, Khamman, Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda, Rangareddy, Karimnagar, Nizambad, Medak and Hyderabad. The Krishna and Godavari rivers flow through the region from west to east. 86% of Telangana is Hindu while 12.4% is Muslim and 1.2% is Christain. Hyderabad city has 41% of the total Muslim population. Telangana districts have 8.4% of Muslim population. More than 80% of Telangana people speak the Telangana dialect of Telugu which is primarily Telugu with Urdu influences. About 11% of Telangana people speak Hyderabadi Urdu.
Telangana has its own distinctive culture and identity. Most prominent is the Hyderabadi Culture also called Deccan Culture.

 Telangana Festivals: Diwali, Dassera, Eid-ul-Fitr and Ugadi are prominent festivals in Telangana. The region celebrates distinctive festivals like Bathukamma and Banalu.

(RGIA) at Shamshabad, Hyderabad is
India's first Greenfield Airport
developed through a public private
partnership between GMR Group, Malaysia
Airports, the Government of Andhra
Pradesh and the Airports Authority of
India.
The airport with its state-of-the-art
facilities, can handle 12 million
passengers per annum. The world-class
terminal building is equipped with best
of passenger comforts. In addition, it
provides for easy transit for domestic
and international passengers and the
firsts of its kind Airport village with
a wide array of shopping dinning and
leisure facilities.
The new airport will be built in a
phase-wise manner. Initial Phase (Phase
1A & 1B) will have capacity of 12
million passengers per annum. Subsequent
development will be determined by actual
increase in traffic volume at the
airport

 Orugallu and Ekasila Nagaram ..! the capital of Hindu Shaivaite kingdom ruled by the kakatiya dynasty from the 12th to the 14th centuries. The old name of this newly formed city is Orugallu Oru means one and Kallu means stone. The entire city was carved in a single rock, hence the name Orukallu meaning one rock.

Sammakka Saralamma Jatara or Medaram Jatara is a tribal festival of honouring the goddesses celebrated in the Telangana region. It commemorates the fight of a mother and daughter, Sammakka and Saralamma, with the reigning rulers against an unjust law. It is believed that after Kumbha Mela, the Medaram jatara attracts the largest number of devotees in the country.
This jatara is held once in two years at Medaram village located at about 110 km from Warangal city. The jatara is held for three days before Magha Purnima (January-February).
It is celebrated in Medaram during the time the goddesses of the tribals is believed to visit them. Medaram is a remote place in the Eturnagaram Wildlife Sanctuary, a part of Dandakaranya, the largest surviving forest belt in the Deccan.
